Can you help ID please?

This came with the house. About 5' tall.... smells heavenly.... blooms late spring. Any help would be great.

Actually I'm thinking it's possibly Syringa meyeri 'Palibin' ? http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/82703/ The foliage is different than S. vulgaris and Palibin's habit is more like the one in your photo.

I think you are right rcn48. I also have the other lilac in my yard that snapple45 mentions here. Thanks to you both.

I'll second the opinion that it's dwarf Korean lilac 'Palibin'. The leaves give it away. I've always thought that they smell like privet. They bloom when very young and small, unlike French lilacs. Can also be cut back to any size or sheared to shape right after blooming and kept smaller that way without losing next year's blooms.
