Hey, Lady Bug - looks like it's holding it's color (or lack of) - that's really sweet!

(Zone 6a)

That is just beautiful!!! I'm wishing mine would turn variegated too.
It looks like the real deal! Let me know if you ever need anybody to test it in Canada :D

Rylaff...
My..My.. a Lovely beauty indeed..
It looks like the real deal.. Georgeous tri colored variegation.. my favorite..
It has enough green in it to keep it viable and strong growing.. not at all virus looking..
Gee..something as fine as that displays will be a knockout in every catalog.. available everywhere..
Well .. you'll have the name to give it.. honoring a family member.. an old Love.. or political point of view... or perhaps an awareness message to all who encounter it... for a special cause.
what fun..
Then there's how to release it..Plant Patents.. exclusive release to a large grower.. or perhaps a deal with a tissue culture lab.. yourself... and flooding the market yourself.. the business end of plants is a cut throat proposition... or maybe I'm just an old cynic but I've seen some real funny business afoot inthe circles.. Like some LA nurseries with greenhouses filled with hibiscus.. grand coloration..obviously the work of a hybridizer.. and marked yellow.. to avoid any royality..
you've a growing concern there.. and from what I've seen with some of the plumeria friends in FL.. it isn't out of the question to install a vidio system..large dogs.. and a guard..
secure this.. and enjoy it's fruits.. Gordon

Gordon, you crack me up.

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

I Think Passion Flower Paul Would Be a Nice name

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Lisa, thether a big, mean dog near it and when I get there, we can sell it exclusively out of the greenhouse I am going to own!!!!

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

OH.. I'd been thinking also..for a million you could sell just the name on that new passion vine.. sure to be a hit for years...you ought to contact them.. or maybe they should contact you.. I can see it now..
Passiflora Coca- Cola
all the best for you there..Gordon

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Plant still doing well and still variegated. I have not been able to get a cutting rooted though. It amazes me that as much white is on the vine, it handles full sun without burning.

You know Paul, between me, you and Shellabella, we could go in on a tank of gas for a midnight raid in Niceville. LOL

Lakeland, FL(Zone 9b)

Sounds good to me. Will get the dark clothes out. I'll drive and be the lookout....lol

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

I think Shellabella still has hers from our last daylily raid at MollyMc's. LOL

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Dont fall in the pond. It is back in the corner. Just listen for the sound of a waterfall and then go in the other direction.
that is a good idea, I will try and root it that way.
No blooms.

Lancaster, OH(Zone 6a)

Have you tried cuttings directly in a good mixed soil with a 2-liter cut off and turned upside down over it (greenhouse effect) ? I have rooted 3 varieties from doing this with great results, it may be worth a try...

By the way its very pretty and ould be a great welcome in any passie lovers gardens!

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I will try both methods. Would like to get this rooted and keep it going over the winter.

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

I'm sure these folks can work out an arrangment with you.. for you're having exclusive distributorship of your beauty... think of having 100 thousand of them in MAY... or perhaps a smaller concern... put me downfor a 72 cell pack...

Lisa, remember me if you get any extra rooted cuttings of this - I have a greenhouse, so can perhaps root some cuttings for you!

Tri-Cities, WA(Zone 7b)

That is a very nicely variegated plant you have there. Good luck with your propagation efforts.

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Beautiful variegation! I had the same thing happen with one branch of Passiflora 'incense' this year. I've taken some cuttings to see if it will continue to grow true to the white/green variegation.

I also had one shoot of an Ipomoea cairica (purple morning glory) show white and green variegation. I've got cuttings of it also and hoping they grow.

Two mutants in one year! You'd think I was living near Three Mile Island! LOL

Lariann on DG is probably the best person to go to for questions about patenting plants. She has created quite a few new named hybrid varieties of elephant ears. I know a DGer here in Jacksonville that set up a state-of-the-art tissue culture cloning lab in a spare bedroom. He had to have severe back surgery a few years ago and hasn't been pursuing the tissue culture much lately, but it is nice to know he is there and has all the equipment if I ever do come up with something that might be marketable.
