pruning leggy mountain laurel

I have 3 different kalmia, side by side, in a relatively shady area. Two are perfection, but one has become very leggy, and is no longer blooming as prolifically. Can I prune it back severely, about two or three "trunks" every season, to force it to become more bushy???
