CLOSED: Friend or Foe?

Bensenville, IL(Zone 5a)

Is this a good caterpillar or a bad one? It is about 1/2 inch long. I saw 4 in the same area and don't know if I should be nice to them or not. Can someone help me please identify? Thank you!

We have these all around our house so I would love to know what they are as well!

That's what mine are! I decided awhile back that if I had that many that it couldn't be good! I started doing away with them. I did notice on some of my arborvitae branches that there were patches of pod-like things that held eggs. I rubbed them off. Luckily I probably destroyed many of them before they hatched.
