CLOSED: My DD sent me this moth picture

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

DD seems to think that I know everything about the outdoors. I am totally clueless about bugs, moths and butterflies. (although I like them very much)

Does anyone have an idea? I told her I would need help from my DG friends on this one.

think it is a Cecropia Moth Hyalophora cecropia

Big Rapids, MI(Zone 4b)

Hyalophora cecropia... didn't know they were out yet... commonly found here in Michigan summers around streetlights at night... they're so big, people often think they're bats, or birds. We used to find the larvae on Hawthorne trees, then raise the moths in captivity.

I have seen these and yes they are really big. I will ask my daughter and see if this is it.
You guys are great. Thanks.
