Cutting and preparing Oriental lilies

I'm going to be cutting some Oriental lilies soon for an arrangement. I've searched for any special thing to do after cutting them (sear end of stem with a match; stick stem in just boiled water, etc) and haven't found anything.

Is it as simple as just cut and stick in water?

Yep.

Try to leave as much stem in the garden as possible. This will help replenish the bulb for next year's bloom.
