found this caterpillar in our yard on may 31, 2008 in Kamloops, BC. Can't find what it is. Can anyone help us out??? It is black spots on the bottom of it too that are quite striking.
CLOSED: what is this caterpillar
I suspect that this most likely is in the family Noctuidae, possibly one of the underwings (Catocala spp.) - see http://homepage.mac.com/eceisner/Insects/Moths/c2489.jpg for a ventral view of one.
found this caterpillar after a little searching. it is a Catocala briseis of the Noctuidae family. thanks for the help.
