this is the biggest daddy long leg i have ever seen if that is what it is. my goodness. it is out in my garage. ive seen them my whole life, but holy hanna bargerra, ive never seen one like this!!! oh and that white thing is the light switch. thats how big it is in comparison.
This critter is in the order Opiliones, one of three diverse groups of arthropods sometimes called “daddy long legs”; the other two being the cellar spider (Pholcus phalangioides) and some large crane flies (Diptera: Tipulidae). Opilionids also are known as harvestmen, perhaps a better choice to avoid confusion. All opilionids are completely harmless to humans.
