This spider has been building a web in the same spot for over two weeks now. My garden must be really buggy. The body is only 1/2" and very thin.
CLOSED: Any thoughts would be helpful.
This is a long-jawed orb weaving spider (family Tetragnathidae); likely in the genus Tetragnatha - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/55415880 for a dorsal image and http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/86552923 for a close-up of a face-on view. These spiders often spin their webs over small streams or pools.
Thank you, suunto.
