Obscure Root Weevils

I am trying to find information on how to best get rid of root weevils on
Rhodies and other Broad-leaf evergreens. I used to use a Lily-Miller
product, a pyrethrin- based powder, but it has been discontinued. There
aren't a lot of chemicals labeled for weevils and most are so toxic (I have
pets and feed the birds) I'd like to avoid them.
Any thoughts?
