Cool find Donna! I think it's the Spanish Moth, Xanthopastis timais, which is the adult of the convict caterpillar.

oh cool I have several of them. I found live Convict Caterpillars and put them in the same cage. Guess it wasn't my mystery cocoon lol

Those are some pretty moths....what did you find the cats chewing on? The larvae's unique looking too.
