CLOSED: CLOSED: Please help identify this bug. maybe some kind of beetle?

Harrisburg, PA

So our house seems to be infested with this brown dried up looking bug. It can fly and makes a loud buzzing noise. It looks kind of like a beetle in that it looks like it has armor. But something about doesn't quite look like a beetle. It started just in our garage but as the weather has gotten warmer they have moved inside the house. I would love help identifying it and finding a way to get rid of them, hopefully in an eco-friendly way. Thanks

You're right, it's not a beetle, it's a true bug. It's a stinkbug, probably this Brown Marmorated (marbled) Stinkbug Halyomorpha halys:

Interesting background there, that sea urchin shell. Did it just land there?

You are right, it's a brown marmorated stink bug. I found a picture online that matched mine about 10 minutes after I posted this. Thanks for the help. I got the shell at the beach, in a shop, not sure what kind it is. The stink bug died insided it, so I put in on top for a better close up.

Jessdisco,

I agree that your bug is the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug- Halyomorpha halys.
We have a page for this species in BugFiles here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/2704/
but we have no images so far. It would be good if you would add your image of the bug to that page,

Kennedy
