When are Clivia seeds ripe??

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

I have several big red seed pods on my clivia that have been there for about 8 months. I kept waiting for them to shrivel up and turn brown, but I don't know if that is necessary. Now I have another cluster of seeds forming from the March bloom.
You can see the first cluster in this picture taken in March, they are finally getting soft and starting to shrivel. Did I need to wait this long??
How long does it take for them to germinate after they mature??

Looks like they are ready, peel the fleshy berry off of the large seed or seeds inside. Clivia seeds are round and light in color, and must not dry out for a prolonged period of time. They cannot be stored more than a week or so. Once you get the flesh off of them (should be 1-3 seeds per fruit), rinse and then plant. Sow them so that part of the seed is just barely showing at the soil surface. They may take some time to show their first leaf, perhaps a month or more.
Good luck,

Planted as suggested they are almost 100%. If I want more seed produced I will hand pollinate with a small brush flower to flower. Many flowers will not make seeds without help. They will take about 5 years from seed planting to flowering plant, but are worth the wait. Al
