Nice one!

Laburnums are in flower here too at the moment.

I am not sure of the legal limit on how many times you can kill the same plant,
but I'm sure I'm close to it with laburnum.
I'm not disclosing publically how many I've killed trying to get them to learn to enjoy our heat and humidity.
But now that I see you can grow them so well in Chicago, I may have to try again.
Or, on second thought, maybe I'll just enjoy yours.
Anyway, thanks for resurrecting my laburnum envy.

My styrax japonica is in full swing today. Wall-to-wall blooms.

Styrax formosana is a little more dainty, but still plenty floriforous.

Wow...that's a beauty. Are they fragrant?

My Laburnum had a very rough winter and I kinda thought it was gone. During a bad winter storm a huge garbage can blew it over and it was at a horrible angle. Then later in winter the bark turned almost black during the bitter cold. Again I was saying goodbye. But alas she's got her spring outfit on and doing well. I do have her in an area that gets a lot of shade.

Here's another pic....

They're nicely fragrant.
There's also a nice weeping version ('Carillon') which has beautiful habit.
But my Carillon hasn't opened yet.
The weeping flowers on a weeping small tree are very beautiful.

Weerobin, that Styrax is nice! Wish I could send you seed from the Laburnums 'round here.
