We have been planting trees the last few years and had a purple sand cherry given to us. We planted it and it is doing well considering the major dry spell last year. Today I noticed that there are 3 "trunks" I have figured out which is the main one, my question is..should I just leave the other two and have this as a shrub and keep all the other suckers cut down or should I cut off the two that had been left to grow????? I am just getting back into the garden and had left the care to my DH and these were missed so, what do I do..cut or leave em???? They are all about the same size in height
Thanks Joyce
Purple Sand Cherry pruning???
I would keep them all, especially since they are prone to borer and the odds are you will lose one or more eventually.
