Good news for Bonnie not having to serve on a jury...its an educational thing to be picked but it brings up some responsibilities that one might not want at the time. The one time I served on a jury it was to set sentencing for a woman that had an accident and killing another person while driving drunk. She plead guilty and was hoping for leniency. She had been out long enough to get married and have 2 children and was pregnant with another, but we still gave her some time to serve..Dont know why they let these things drag out so long. I hated to do it, but felt the other family needed some closure.
Like I said, decisions I didnt need to be making. So when I am called, I show up but so far have not been chosen again. Last close call I had was to serve on a capital murder case of a young man who shot a policeman..it (of course) got a lot of publicity at the time and it was shocking to see him at the courthouse, all dressed in a suit and looking so normal. I remember wondering what on earth possessed him to pull that trigger..
Mommie, you asked about counting noses to make sure all the cats are around. Yes, I have to do that..the other day I didnt and accidentally left Bubba outside all night. He stays in the back yard, but I still want them inside where they are safe. He is so laid back, he didnt even grumble at me in the morning, just ate heartily and found a place to sleep it off (inside..LOL)
We got some much needed rain and even more needed cooler temps today with a cold front that moved through the area. It was great, went from 89 to 69 in an hour...They are saying more rain tonight and a little cooler tomorrow but after that it will be back in the 90's...summertime in Texas.
Here is my handsome Bubba. He was dropped off at the parking garage where I worked (I think). For 4 days he run from person to person but wouldnt let anyone pick him up. Finally on the last day I worked that week, I took along the carrier and managed to get him into it, brought him home and he has been my lovely Bubba ever since. I cant really remember how many years ago that was, but at least 10...I found a picture that I took of him at the time and was shocked to see how white he was..that tells me he was a younger fella and is getting darker with age.
