How to propagate rhus typhina 'tiger eyes' ?

I have a smallish rhus typhina 'tiger eyes' that I would like many more of.

They sucker of course and I could wait for those, but am wondering if anyone has had success with rooting hormone on sumac?

I have not tried it,but I read an article somewhere that said it was easy to propagate from semi-ripe cuttings in summer.I am curious too,because I've been thinking about getting one.Lynn
