Rj. I am green with envy. What a great present. I would have to quit bidding on e-bay after they get over $150.
I like the colors on your plumeria , great picture.

candela, your heliconias are awesome, your pictures are making me homesick. With all the wind and without any rain for some time now, my buds are falling off. I also have spidermites. it was not a good spring for me, my plants are not half as big as they were last year.
btw your lime zinger is looking very good.

variegated banana?

Effingham, IL(Zone 5b)

Uuhggg, I bought one of those variegated bananas off of Ebay about 5 or 6 years ago. Paid a good price for it too. I received it, a very large healthy plant, but after two months, it completely collapsed one night. It just rotted at the base. Never did try it again. Those suckers are too expensive.

glen 74, I bought my first Musa AEAE when they were only $99.each. It grew to about 5ft and died. The second one grew to about 7ft, very beautiful. I will try again for the third time, if I can find one. I am addicted.

Happy Happy Birthday, RJ!

I missed a lot on this thread in a day. Let me go take a quick 2 pictures of the other caricature plants.

Here are the 3 colors I have. The last picture the plant is only green and white and a much slower grower than the other two colors of this particular kind of plant.

I can't multitask.........forgive me placencirita

This one is pink ( or salmon pink) on dark green leaves

This is the green and white one . It has only grown about 2 feet since last summer. The other two colors I have to cut back all the time.

My Hedychium coronarium, White butterfly ginger (Zingiberaceae) has started to bloom. So far only one stem out of many. Can't wait for the aroma to spread.

gessiegail, thanks for showing me your caricature collection. I will be on the lookout for them at the nurseries. The one that I have is in the ground, lost all of it's leaves last winter but is doing fine now. Do you have yours in pots? Maybe the white one will do better in a pot, as it is a slow grower.

Beautiful flowers from Florida, my favorite thing to do while on my visits there is to drive around and admire the lush landscaping.
