I got this one...it is a weeping tree. Right?

So far, so good....

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Shoots look like Styphnolobium japonicum (syn. Sophora japonica), but the foliage doesn't.

Yup. That's what it is. Amazing....

Sooo...I won right?

I normally am not a fan of weeping trees when they are that young but that one is rather nice.

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

Styphnolobium japonicum 'Pendula', to be more on the mark.

I should send you some pics of the old timers around here. The late Dan Gardiner and Theodore Klein made a habit of selecting and planting the weeping form of this species. They were both in their 90s when they passed on, and left quite the legacy in KY, arboriculturally speaking.

Good eye on the correction. I'd love to see some pics of the elders. Do they flower? This one is from Japanese stock that is promised to flower heavily vs the US version.

Send some pics when you can....

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

They will absolutely flower, and set seed.

Senior citizens can be found at Bernheim Arboretum, Cave Hill Cemetery, Spring Grove Cemetery, and Yew Dell Gardens, amongst other Ohio River valley and central KY landscapes.

Fresh back from a conference in Charlottesville, I'll see what I can rustle up.
