Planting strawberries HELP!?!?

Whitesboro, TX

You can get cheap netting at WalMart in the garden section - it comes in a 5' x 10' section w/ties all the way down the short side for about $3.50 got about a 6" square on it - use it all over my place for MGs & other vines & nice thing is it's cheap enough at the end of season just pull everything up & haul it all to the curb for the city to mulch. You are right about wild cats - they can be destructive ( true ferals don't rely on humans for survival - wild cats do ) like I said mine are all either spayed or nuetered & kept on Revolution year round to control fleas & other nasties. I actually prefer they use my garden as it keeps the rodents & birds away & is a great natural fertilizer + I grow at least 10 varities of heavily scented plants & vines to combat the smell. I suggest for you to keep them away from your garden any product containing dry fox or coyote urine - any local feed or hunting store carries it & it'll keep the cats away from your garden. I buy 4 or 5 cans of it at the beginning of spring & give to nieghbors that don't want cats in their yards & haven't had a complaint about them in years. I have more of a problem w/ the nieghbors luring them into their yards so they'll hunt there instead of working my yard! Anyway good luck w/ your garden & hope you get a good crop of strawberries.
