Is this Normal for Asiatic Lily Bulbs?

I got some asiatic lily bulbs that I ordered. Do these look okay or should I not plant the ones that look like they have black spots and mold? I probably should have asked before hand, but what I did was peel off all the pieces that looked yucky and planted what was left. Did I do the right thing? I guess I am worried this could be a sign of disease or virus or something I should not introduce into my garden, without chance of losing every lily I have.

They should be ok. The scales have been bruised and some blue penicillin mold has taken advantage of it. Removing the mushy moldy scales was the right thing to do. Once planted, the penicillin mold dies. It is getting late for planting lilies. Next time try ordering for fall planting or for earlier spring shipping.

Oh good, thank you so much for the help. I didn't plant them in the ground, I put them in pots. That way I can plant them in fall. I did it last year with some other lily bulbs and it worked out well. I got to see how tall they got and what the blooms looked like, then I was able to plant them in the right spot. Descriptions and pictures aren't always acurate, plus I got them on sale, probably due to spring not being the best time for planting. Thanks again : )
