I'd toss them Sherrie but then, down here, they poop out from the short Spring and don't have enough umph for the next year.
Plant or weed?
I got my first shipment of plants this afternoon. Woohoooooo!
I couldn't wait...I've been out in the rain planting! My neighbors must think I'm a loon. Then again, they'd be half-right.

Planting in the rain is fun to me. Once you're wet, you can't get any wetter. Cold rain is a different story, though.
Kim:
You'd be right at home with the loons on 'my' lake next door. And you'd be very well loved, as no one in my neighborhood thinks that Anna or I are loony for gardening in the rain, in the dark, and even in a slight early (or late) snowstorm.
It's been interesting this year to watch the out-of-state cars slow down to look at the garden. We've even had a couple of people stop and take pictures! Now, THERE'S a gardener's compliment for sure! Anna just preens with delight when she sees the cars slowing down.
How about a picture of what the tourists see.
I can do that Jo Ann.
This is the view people get when they come up the road from the south. It really doesn't look like much right now because not too much is blooming except for the tulips and daffs, and just a few other things.
I see emerging perens. It will be great about July when those lilies bloom. You can be justifiably proud.
I think that the tourists stop and stare because there aren't any other gardens in the neighborhood to look at ~ at least none in the immediate area. I've tried and tried to get our neighbors 'hooked', but to no avail.
I can't WAIT for the end of June and the beginning of July when all the lilies are in bloom, and the tall phlox, and the one rose bush!! Oh, and the Columbine!!!!
So lovely, Candyce. Yes, be proud!!
I've got mostly rhizomes going in the ground, so all my neighbors see is me digging at mysterious times...and no plants to show for it! In Brooklyn, this can only mean thing to them: I'm burying body parts or bank robbery loot. ;)
How come we spend so much energy gardening to wait for something?
In March we wait for bulbs to emerge and now we wait for June when gardens are in full flower, we are always waitin.
My DH's parents live in Brooklyn Heights, his brother and SIL are in Fort Greene. We lived on the bad side of St. John's Place for a while, then moved to Astoria. Now CT. Actually, heading down to the city for the rest of the week, but we do go regularly...

Brooklyn, my parents, oldest bro and sis were all born in Brooklyn.
Wow! So many Brooklyn-ites and ex-NYers! Too cool. Maybe we'll have to do a DG get-together 'round here?

Kim, I thought you got rid of them? I was looking at mine today, they have buds also and thought of you! I'm glad you left them alone. Clemen
Yes. It will be wonderful to see what blooms!
Hey Candyce, I just d mail you lady! Clem
Thanks, Clemen
Clem,
I pulled them out, left them on top of the compost bin overnight, learned they were lilies and replanted the next day. amazing, huh? Tough little fighters!
