What is the best wat to start new piggybacks? I have a beautiful plant in a hanging basket, and it looks lik it may start declining soon. Other than dividing, any ideas? I have taken leaves that have several babies and just bury it in soil, but no luck so far.

Whatsa piggyback plant?
The leaves that have the babies on them will root if they can reach soil. I would take the plant down from its hanging position. Then I would take small starter size pots, fill with soil, and pin a baby down onto the top of the soil in each starter pot. Old-fashioned hair pins should work fine or a paper clip bent into a "U" shape. After the baby has rooted, you can then cut it loose from the mother plant. You'll have to do some adjusting with the mom pot and the baby pots so that they are all level. A piggyback plant is actually more like a ground cover. I've seen them growing wild in wooded areas of Oregon.
