Don't worry Tamara ,no way can i get it out of the paper towels, haha. We are in a hurry to get set up so no time for any more work.
We are also trying to grow a garden again and have soil problems with corn, it's us though not the soil.I bet next month i will get a good soil tester ,even if it cost $150 ,it will save us work and money in long run.
Then we drive by feed store and see sign' baby chics ' run in and cause ourselves more problems .
Seems like we have both lost our minds lately ,dumb and dumber .Maybe it's the water .
Biddie Question .
i wonder what my excuse is?
Hope it's not contagious,hehe.
Poor animals have to suffer for our mistakes.
it is. all of us here are addicts, perhaps, and we have spread it amongst ourselves, and we are on the hunt for more folks to infect LOL
Yea addicted to had work and frustration it seems for us at times.
I have my little ducks beside me now in nice warm place. One did't go swimming today, hope thats not a bad sign.I'm bginning to wonder if they are pekings though. If they are suppose to be yellow, than mine are in trouble.
My littler chics are doing good so far, they seem happy, and I call for them everytime I put in food, chic, chic, chic. .
That's what I call my chicks with, Doc. Here chick chick
chick! I love to watch the cochins run- it's hilarious! They
actually lumber kind of like sasquatch.
About the pen about 3 feet off the ground: A note to the
wise: My first chicks I had when I was in my early 20's,
and I made a dandy cage with 1/2" hardware cloth, and it
had a box end for safety and warmth, with a light bulb.
I put it up on blocks by the front door- and overnight a cat
(probably) pulled their little legs off through the wire! It was
awful. So, I would have some kind of shelf under it, something
you can clean or scrape off into the compost pile. It was not
a pretty sight.
Also, you can put your poop soaked paper towels in the
compost pile, too.
Everyone here is always so willing to 'help'. If they don't
have an answer, they are quick to look it up or refer you.
We know that 'help' means to 'infect' with our enthusiasm!
Hi everyone.
My little chics are doing fine,Dh caught some small grsshoppers for them and they went after them .
I got a planter bowl about 4in. deep and filled it with dirt from the woods and the are having a good time scraching and digging, plus getting grit I hope. Ddit is clean because it hasn't been touched since 1953 .We left most of our 10 ac.s natural .It's thickly wooded with hardwoods .Some pine on outside perimiter.Chics are now 18 days old .
They are growing, but not like the ducks. Ducks are still independant.
