Howdy Partners!!!
Yep, finally returned to the good old hot humid Maryland!!!
Finally got achance to log on this morning her at work. Didn't get home till after 11 PM last night.... and had to check my garden-naturally!!! he,he!!! I know my DH thinks I've really lost it... I'm out there in the middle of the night running around with a flash light checking on my "babies"!! Come to think of it... wish I had gotten a picture of it!! LOL!!!
So, i'm back and i'm glad!!! sort of... Yes, WACO is definitely not a "hit" list of vacation spots- didn;t see National Geographic or Travel, or AAA Magazines out there filming or anything- so i knew I was in trouble!!! Only went there 'cause I had to attend a training seminar!!! Yes, I almost went wacky in WACO!!!! It really is a strange town! (Oops! Hope no one in the Garden actually lives there!! LOL!!)
But- I was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nice to meet CoCo- even though it was a bit brief!!!!
By the way------- she makes THE BEST BANANA NUT BREAD I HAVE EVER TASTED!!! So, now, CoCo, you MUST surrender the recipe!!!! Thank you , thank you and thank you for your wonderful hospitality!!!
And, in Albuquerque I got to the Rose Garden- took pics and "snips"---he,he,.... got some cuttings- well, there wasn;t a sign sayin I couldn't!!!! And you should have seen me carrying all these on the plane!!!! (I started the rooting stuff before I left on them)
So.... now, we'll see!!! Got some Honor, Queen Elizabeth, and about five others.... who knows if I took the right type of stem and did the rooting right, but we'll see!!!
Also, took some cuttings from what's left of my mother's rose garden- have no idead what type they are now....
since she passed away fifteen years ago, her garden wasn't taken care of and all have died except four... so, we'll see. My father's new wife has no use for them, so let them die and pulled up many of the others. (I cut back, dead ended, watered, and fertilized the few left unbeknownst to her! he,he) I'd really be thrilled if those cuttings actually rooted!!
So.... now I've got to go to all the thread I've been missing and CATCH up!!! This is the first one I saw!!!
Thanks to you all for wondering where I was and it made me feel at home! You all are the best!!!!

JSS!! Welcome home, my friend, you were sorely missed!! You Know I have
those roses and more....and hee, hee,
you wouldn't have had to run the risk
of the local, yokle gardener nabbing
you and throwing on the cuffs!! LOL.

Thanks Eyes- but cutting 'em was half the fun!! LOL!!!
My DH and son thought I was gonna get locked up! Even walked away and acted like they didn't know me when I began my crime of the century!!! LOL!!! But I kpet saying, hey- there's no signs saying I can't!!! LOL!!! And the roses needed to be trimmed anyway- they really needed some work!!!
I don't think that local Rose Society has spent much time of them this year... my husband was trying to get me out of there because he kept saying, "Come on, let's go before you think you have to clean and pretty them all up!"
funny things is when we were leaving there wa actually a Police "Crime Scene" lab truck parked in the parking lot near our car!!! LOL!!!LOL!!!! (The Rose Garden is at a public library grounds and I think they were investigating something there!!)
