I'm looking for the name of a tree ... it's maybe 10-12' tall and it currently in bloom [zone5 midwest] with beautiful dark pink, almost magenta flowers.
I know that may cover a lot of different trees... but if i had a few names, i could look them up. [i'm doing a search for my neighbor]
Thanks in advance,
Terese
Spring flowers trees
Try:
Redbud
Kanzan Cherry
Bristly Locust
A photo, or even a description of the flower shape, and what sort of clusters the flowers are in if any, would help a lot.
Resin
Thanks Resin .... from images, does look like the Redbud... but if i happen to go past the house [it's about 8 blocks from here] I'll get a better look or even a photo.
tcs - up here in Wisconsin the crabapples (malus) are in full bloom now as well. Not sure if you're on exactly the same schedule as us, but they can have dark pink/magenta blooms.
