I have an Iceberg Patio Rose tree on the east side of the house that gets full morning sun until noon and shaded in the afternoon. It's got about 30 or more buds and open blooms on it but they are all brown on the edges of the petals. Even the buds are turning brownish before they open. The foilage is full and green and shows no sign of damage. What could the problem be? Should I cut all the flowers off; should I spray it with anything?
Your help is appreciated. Thanks for your time and have a nice evening.
What's wrong with my Iceberg Patio Rose Tree?
Could it be thrips? I'm not a rose expert, so I don't know for sure.
Iceberg blooms are very suceptible to weather damage, as are most white roses in my experience. Have you had a recent spate of stormy weather and/or cold winds? I know mine in the Fort Worth area used to take a real pasting from time to time and that was the result on blooms in bud, those already open looked much worse.

There's lots of wind out where the iceberg is so I may have to consider moving it. Thanks so much for your help and have a nice day.
I once had Iceberg. Thrips were always a major problem. Unless I remebered to use systemic insecticide. I finally gave up and took it out.
Thrips are almost microscopic. If you open and shake one of your buds over a dark piece of paper you will see teeny tiny little worm like things.
Okus what are you doing in NY? How are those Clivia doing?
David
Siggy its NY in the UK - not the big Apple. I passed the Clivia on tho Son & DIL when we moved as they were prohibited items on the customs list. THey are probably going to bloom next year I think. I have just ordered more seed and will have to start again!
