Can you believe this stuff? I know, it's May-gray and it comes every year. And next month will be June-gloom. Today my evening primroses are still out mid-afternoon. But Friday it's supposed to be over 100 degrees here.
I just got back from Oregon and it's almost the same, though I was freezing cold the first two days. Thank goodness my BIL had extra woolen socks. Sis said it was supposed to be in the 80s by the end of the week.
Soon I'll be complaining about the heat, but at least now we have a/c so we can cool off in the evenings. Guess my mood is just reflecting the gloomy view.
Goofy weather...
We had sprinkles here Kathleen and it's cold out there. By Wednesday we're supposed to be in the 90's and yup, the end of the week is supposed to be 100. Good old California.
It's supposed to be close to 100 up here at the end of the week too, I'm really not looking forward to it, I hate hot weather! Plus I have some things that were planted recently enough that I'm afraid the heat is going to do them in. It's even supposed to get into the 80's over in San Francisco, and that almost never happens! LOL
Amazingly, I was in Oregon for four days and it didn't rain until we were on the way to the airport - just little sprinkles. The sun even came out one day. Things were just getting started blooming - except for azaleas and some rhodies.
We're supposed to get a spike into the 90's tomorrow but then it should settle down to low 80's by the weekend. We didn't get any rain, that's for sure. I don't like the hot weather either. I put a bunch of hostas into the ground this week so I'll have to be looking after them. No worse than if they were in the pots I had them in though. Maybe the daylilies will start looking like something with this hot weather starting though. Our nights are so cool here that they don't like to bloom properly.
