CLOSED: unknown beetle which loves to hide

Coon Rapids, MN(Zone 4a)

I found this beetle swimming in one of my pond - it is a very common species which is one of the light hater species who loves to hide in dead leaves and underground. It moves fast - scurrying for any shade. All of them are black and less than 1/2 of a inch.

This is a ground beetle (Coleoptera: Carabidae); possibly in the tribe Harpalini - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/61928192 for an example.

Interesting - the picture look similiar even thought I should had gotten a better picture of it. Hard to believe those are releated to tiger beetles and other ground beetles that hunts in the open during daylights.
