Hardy hibiscus - any success?

Springfield, MA(Zone 6a)

I winter sowed EIGHT different varieties - but nothing so far . . . is there a secret?

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6a)

I don't know, Seandor. I did sow them a couple of years ago and they grew. I don't remember when I sowed them, and can't find them on my spreadsheet. I must have forgotten to record it. But anyway, I know they they grew.

So, I should just hang in there . . . or start new ones?

Brooklyn, NY(Zone 7b)

Last time I sowed hardy hibiscus was back in 2004 - sown on 2/16 and saw the first seedling on 4/22. When did you sow yours??

I did get germination on "Texas Star Hibiscus" but i do not know if that is classified as HARDY.

those were sown on 2-14 and germinated April 4th.

I sowed mine Feb. 22 - so you would think I would have something by now! . . .sigh . . . I may have to start again in June.

Gilmer, TX(Zone 8a)

I winter sowed mine, prob. around first of Feb. They are up, but just a couple inches high. I started to throw mine away too, but saw that little greenie stickin out of the dirt. I probably did lose 25% of them.
