Texas Bluebonnet Seeds

TAYLOR, TX(Zone 8a)

My question: Once the bluebonnets have finished blooming and have set seeds, can you then pull up the plants and put them in your garden area to finish drying?

I wouldn't mess with them if you're wanting the seeds. I would be afraid they wouldn't finish. Are the blossoms already dead? If so and the seeds look pretty dry, just take them off now , let them finish drying inside. If they are still fresh, you don't need to do that, but if they aren't , that's what I would do.

Course that is just my opinion and it's worth about a lpenny, so I'm sure someone with more experience will give you more info.. You might try the Texas forum, there's a lot of people there who are really into the wildflowers. !!!

Thanks for your response, but the whole question became mute when our lawn guys mowed them all down the other day. We had them marked, but he just ignored that and mowed them all down.

Oh no, did you get any seeds? I would chop his head off and bury him in the back yard. lol We had some tree guys come to cut a bunch of trees and marked the dogwood. That's all he cut down. I still get mad!!!

I've got some, if I manage to get some seeds, I'll send you some. Course you can buy them bulk for a little bit of nothing, but it is so much more fun to plant your own. LOL
