Happy Birthday, Jan! You'll find Jan in the Rose Forum.

Gorgeous bloom, Terese. Which Rose are you sharing with us?

that was Peace... massively tweaked in Photoshop -- i was playing around one day and really liked the outcome.

my Peace was/is gorgeous... but has a fungus, which makes me sad to lose it.

I love how you tweaked your Peace Rose. It's a beauty!

So sorry you had fungal problems with it. I also have continuous black spot fungal problems with Roses in my area because of our high humidity during the summer months. Therefore, I now only select Roses that are very resistant to those issues.

Shirley -- i was out there yesterday, poking around... and it looks like the area where the fungus 'knob' is ... that all looks dead, and the new growth has shot out in two other spots... I'm hoping I can dig the dead part out, and hopefully save the bush. I'm giving it a slim chance... but a chance is a chance.

and as for the tweaking.... i dont even recall HOW i did that... but really liked the way it turned out.

Well it sounds like "Peace" is trying to make a valiant come back! I hope it succeeds!

Sometimes just playing around in different software editing packages, we create the most beautiful & interesting effects. It's a good thing that you saved that image!

Shirley -- yesterday i was able to cut that huge dead part out of Peace.

Hopefully the rest will survive ... i sunk a few banana peels in there -- hopefully that will help too.

once it blooms, i'll get some photos [and post in the rose forum] ... currently the growth is about an inch high... so it will be some time.

Terese,

That's good that you were able to cut away the dead section of your 'Peace' Rose. Hopefully, that will stimulate it to grow new branches. I'm sure it will enjoy the extra potassium from the banana peels you've added. You might want to give it some Rose fertilizer to encourage it to get larger too.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your Rose will bounce back, healthy & hardy again.

Good Luck!
