I ordered a Blue Dawn MG late in the summer last year. Although it didn't bloom, I was able to overwinter it in the house. It is growing quite well now..vining everywhere. It's still to cold to set it out doors. I'm wanting to get some starts from it. I have tried to start some using the baggie method..this hasn't worked as of yet. Today I have tried using rooting harmone & peat as the soil & setting this under lights. Is there a certain place to cut the vine? Could anyone give me some advice? I know down south it is just a weed...but the pictures of the flower is so beautiful! I would love to grow several.
Thanks to all...Deb
cuttings from Blue Dawn MG ?
Deb, wrap the stems around inside your pot and use a bobby pin (open it up a bit) then pin them down into the soil, add a little top soil where you want them to root... wait about a month and by the time it is time for them to go out you can cut them off and take the rooted parts which are new plants, also, they do root in water. but letting the stems touch the soil is probably faster and since they don't suffer being cut, they do better..
You will find that Blue Dawn I. indica will go right thru the holes in the bottom of the pot and root everywhere the stems touch.. so you will have plenty by the end of the year.
