Holly, that's really fun. I thought it might be a mum. The Ghoulfriend is great! I had to stop putting out pumpkins, because they provided a feast for the moles who would eat the whole inside from the bottom up, spit out the seeds and start pumpkins patches all over my lawn. With all of that gardening, does the boat ever get to leave the driveway???
Lamppost project out with the old and in with the new
Holly, every thing is looking very nice, I did notice the trellises hanging on either side of the windows, made me look twice as they reflect the design of the trellises at the lamp post, very nice.
Please keep posting pictures as I love seeing the progress you are making, Ric is a real handy guy, better hang on to him. lol
Thanks Lady, I'm really very happy with the look of it all. Poor Ric it's just one project to the next. I'm bringing home a load of aged horse manure this morning. Those weed covered rocks in the front yard are really getting to him. So I think he is going to start on that wall very soon and he was mentioning all my plants I have still sitting in the driveway. Which can't be planted until the walkway is finished so those two will be the next projects.
Stormyla, Talk about boats. LOL No they don't get used too often. But we have a pile of them. We live close to the Susquehanna River and my son has a summer place on an island down there. There was a new boat delivered this morning. It's a 19ft center console that needs a new deck and some other odds and ends done to it. Oh Yeah, That's another project for Ric. LOL
HollyAnn, Poor Ric! My DSO greatly admired his ingenuity! I keep hearing about the unplanted items too. My friend in Humlestown has a creek, that when it's not overflowing her shed, beds and pool is a great place for her canoe. We also sail in MD on her ancient Sabre. That's some garden cart you've got there! What a nice son, to treat Mommy so well. You must have done something right!
Amazing transformation.
Love the blue glass in the trellis with the clematis! Very nice!
Wonderful! Everything has filled in beautifully and I agree, the blue glass adds a special touch :) How do you keep your Clematis looking so lush through the summer? Mine looks pathetic right now :( Of course with our drought and the fact that the Clematis are in an area where they don't get a good dose of water from the sprinklers that we're rotating constantly, I might have answered my own question! LOL
Looking great!! Have enjoyed looking at all your hard work. The new gazebo looks like a real nice place to sit-a-spell.
Too cute!!! Our yard man is too young. Only 4. Granted he doesn't even know he is our yard man yet. We'll break him in slowly. lol. Actually his parents might have something to say about that though.
DH is looking forward to retire in about 4 years, but I KNOW he will never just not do anything. He can't sit still. He loves to build things, soooo, when the official time comes maybe I'll have him build a few things for our garden.
jan
Thanks Jan, That is our Grandson JR, he was 5 last May. He just loves helping Grams do everything, especially if it means he can slop around in the water. You will love retirement, we are sooo busy now. Ric says how did we have time to work. LOL
Holly - sooooo pretty!! And a handy watering guy ya got there!!!
I'm so glad you posted a link to this on the clematis forum! I never would have stumbled across it otherwise! I have an ugly old non-functional lamppost in the front yard that I'd love to replace, and your step-by-step make-over really inspired me! I'll have to see if I can get my DH to sit down and look at it with me, and get him on board, too. I'm sure his first response will be, "I'll have time when I'm retired!" Unfortunately, that is probably a good 20 years away. . . I don't want to wait that long! LOL
Your yard man is adorable. Mine are 7 and 10, and they are becoming quite the little gardeners, too!
Angie
Thank you Angie, The Yard Man is my Grandson just turned 6 and he loves to come and help Grams. My Granddaughter is 2 and I had her planting flowers just the other day, although she steps on more than she plants. LOL
Ric and I are retired so that gives us a lot more time to work on projects, even with that there is a lot that we have waiting in the wings to work on. Good luck on your lamppost and please post pics when you get it done.
