Baltimore Orioles at the Farm!

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

Actually he was eating across from another Oriole and I think they were just trying to gross each other out (reminds me of my little brothers at the table eating with their mouth full just to make me mad)! LOL! Boys will be boys!!

Trois...thanks for the info on the Super B complex...I am willing to try anything!!

I went home for lunch today and "someone" must have been sitting on the orange eating and they pooped in one of the nectar holes and in the jelly, YUCK! I removed the orange and put it on another pole and washed the feeder!

I think I will have to show those beautiful goldies the map that says that they are year round residents here when they come back this fall. I sure do wish they would have stayed this year, but at least 1 pair have, so I can't whine tooooo loud. ;-{ They don't eat much from the feeders as there are plenty of dandylion seedheads to eat. I have a huge surplus of seed because I have managed to train :) DH to pick up a couple of bags whenever he is in that end of the county and I hadn't seen until yesterday how many I have stockpiled. I'll probably have to blend it into the other seeds over this spring/summer.

Is there a way to encourage the cowbird flock (showed up today) to leave??

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Nan, my recent arrivals the White-crowned and white-throated sparrows (I'm calling them the White Stripes) love the finch seed that's on the ground. I'm sure you can keep using it. The house finches still love it too.

Rose, I'm thinking of doing something like this link shows, but not that big of rocks on the top. I'm getting a 20 gal container this weekend at the Iowa Roundup. I'll sink it in the ground with a pump. I have been collecting those smooth stones. This wont' happen until July at least, but I'm going to make sure it happens this year!!!!

Oops, here's the link:
