Question about Youjiro cultivars

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Am I correct in saying that Youjiro cultivars are a cross between I. purpurea and I. nil? If that is so, then can that cultivar be crossed with either?

Examples to clarify my question:

Can I cross a Youjiro with say Star of Yelta (I. purpurea)?

Can I cross a Youjiro with Indigo Feathers or any of the higes?

Can I cross a Youjiro with Plum Shadows (I. nil)?

What about crossing it with an I. tricolor such as Heavenly Blue or Wedding Bells?

And one more question ... Is Star of India an I. purpurea or an I. nil?
