Trumpet Vine

Middle of, VA(Zone 7a)

Ok...so I DID attempt a search...help please. My trumpet seeds are the only ones out of a gazillion (ok, close LOL) that haven't made any appearance above soil level. They were planted 3/30/08....how long does it take these little guys to surface?

Takes about 8 weeks of cold treatment at 39 degrees and then several weeks of 68 degrees.

I start my trumpet vines from cuttings.

Are you familiar with Tom Clothiers germination website? http://tomclothier.hort.net/page05.html

I think someone had mentioned his link before. I feel like such an idiot...had no idea and just plopped them in soil with the rest of my seed...ugh!!! Thank you!!!

Trumpet vine starts from the roots near the mother plant -- so you have to watch for invasiveness, but if that doesn't bother you -- contact me in a few weeks if you want some starts for postage -- if yours don't come up. I will have it popping up in the end of my garden soon. It's late to leaf out.

Hey Theresa - thanks much!!! Are your's the pink or the orange?
Suprisingly enough...two seeds are actually sprouting...now would it be too much to ask that it be the pink ones? LOL

Sorry for not getting back sooner -- we are busy with yard, helping son-in-law and daughter with their garden, getting ready for a trip, transplanting, etc.

My Trumpet Vine are orange -- but on the burnt orange/half reddish side.
