Euonymus europaea invasive?

Brookeville, MD(Zone 7a)

Is Euonymus europaea going to be invasive in 7b? Our soil isn't acidic but these plants will probably need the soil altered to be so.

They're going to be planted in full sun.

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

I'd work on the risk that it might well be. Widely naturalised in eastern North America: http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=EUEU7&mapType=nativity&photoID=eueu4_003_ahp.tif

If you want a spindle, try some of the local native species, such as E. americanus, E. atropurpureus or E. obovatus. In terms of ornamental value, there's very little difference.

PS spellcheck: Euonymus europaeus

Oh, I copy and pasted the spelling b/c I knew I'd never get it right!

The thing is that my uncle brought us buckets of cuttings and the ones he brought last year died so he brought so many more this year.
