Hi All;
Some sinns can get really big, like the florist glox. so they do come in so many different sizes from micro's to very large. Auora Borealis is really very pretty, if it never blooms thats ok, it's pretty anyway.when it does bloom it has a large purple flower, really quite pretty.i have buds on mine also.

Oooooh Jannich, your Aurora is just beautiful!
So nice to see you posting again :)
This whole gessie family is SO pretty and the people who hang out on this AV/gessie forum are some of the sweetest people I have ever met in my life.
I feel SO fortunate to be part of this garden.
It has gotten to where this is one of the only forums I ever check anymore *lol*
You all are just like a big family :)

How much fun is this to see Bonnie and jannich's sinningias. You both love them so much (I am learning quickly to love them). I want them to grow faster so I can take cuttings.

After I get some dinner I want Bonnie and Jan to see your seeds you sent. They have to be potted up individually soon! They are all great looking and healthy plants now.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

Bonnie, you grow amazing sinn's too!
Those are all SO cute. I love the little double one :)
They just look so happy.
Are they easy to grow?
I have some seedlings that Pier gave me that she raised from the Gesneriad Soceity so I think they are species but I have no idea what they will look like?
Are hybrids easier?
Do they all make tubers?
Right now I have them on the light stand and so far they seem pretty happy there. I don't have them domed anymore as I wanted to be able to grow them in the open :)

I love learning about new gessies :)

Kim

actually they are all about the same to grow, except the micro's usually need a little more humidity.i think they are one of the easiest gessies to grow.I grow from seed also, they germinate usually in a few days unless they are a species, that takes a little longer from seed. They like conditions the same as your african violet.Just make sure they have a lite soil as they don't like being to wet, that will rot the tuber.

The foliage on Aurora borealis is beautiful!
And I'm REALLY loving the H Double Dilly! Dark foliage with pink blooms- Too die for!
And those are both Sinns? I gotta try some Sinns!

After two days of chasing grandkids I'm getting caught back up around here. ^_^

mrsbonnie your sinningias are such an amazing variety in colors and sizes. I always enjoy your pictures! That Heartlands Double Dilly is a stunner!

mrsbonnie..your bonnie's baby is so cute..love those bloom. You that are so good at hybridizing simply amaze me....to actually be able to cross and create a totally new plant boggles my mind...

gail those look really nice..grown from seed..that is really cool...

Mid, ID(Zone 3b)

I can not believe the size of the blooms on Bonnie's Baby in comparison to the foliage! I guess it's something the sinns are known for but that ones is still surprising, so pretty.

I don't know how the DG classifieds work mrsbonnie but I know you'd find lots of good homes for your babies right here too! ^_^

Are all 90 your talking about different??

~Brenda

Ottawa, IL(Zone 9a)

yes they are all differnt sinns.ther are really so many sinns, you would be amazed.

I finally have about 5 that I can take cuttings of.........but Bonnie, Silhouette is still not big enough although there are about 3 little plants in the 1" square.

I thought one was sick as it had this ashy looking stuff all over it............was just my ashes from my cigarette when I looked closely (LOL)

Andalusia, AL(Zone 8b)

LOL with Gail.Keep those cigarettes AWAY FROM THE PLANTS.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Hi Jan! This is when I know I am getting old. I drop ashes all over the house and on the plants (I forget I am smoking) (LOL)..............Beside the chair where I watch TV there are 3 burns from cigarettes I forgot in the ashtray and they fell out and burned down completely. It is a good thing that carpet won't start a fire anymore.

Kennebunk, ME(Zone 5a)

OMG Gail you make me SO nervous!
I can just see you now.......OMG that is a riot! It's funny but it's not......I really worry about you!!!
Sometimes I will light one, forget I have it lit and light another *lol*
See why I can't quit?
I'm going to try again at some point but definitely sometime AFTER my surgery!

Kim

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

My adult kids even laugh at me as I can have 3 cigarettes going at one time forgetting that they are there...........that is why I have never ever smoked in bed for any reason because sheets can burn!!!

Oh Gail, that scares me to death! You know my husband is a Captain in the fire department and because of him, I'm all too aware of the dangers of cigarettes. Please, please promise me you'll try to be more careful!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Don't worry Rain as my kids make me now use those plastic ashtrays from Walgreen's that a cigarette cannot fall out of..............I never even smoke anywhere in the house except that one chair and in my office where the computer is...........and NOWHERE ELSE!
