CLOSED: Carpenter bee/Urgent HELP needed!

Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Let me try this again, maybe they are called something else in other states? Here in GA they call them carpenter bees. Since I am not a native of the US, I just needed advice. Judging from what I've been reading here, there are quite a number of DG-ers who know just about every insect and I was hoping to get some good old fashioned tips.

I remodel houses when I'm not playing on the computer, and I seldom see a house without damage from carpenter bees. In fact, today I was plagued with them. I thought one would crawl in my ear! But the damage is usually not structural. They love pine boards, especially trim and fascia boards and some kind siding, like T1-11.
If I remember your post right, they were making holes in your deck? I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you, really. I saw one website that said paint and varnish would prevent them, but I don't see it preventing them at all. They can find an unprotected spot. I suppose you could spray them with something, that's up to you. You might try blocking their hole in the daytime.
You also might try posting on the Pests and Diseases forum, maybe somebody has an idea there.

I like your DG name, Tuliplady! I love tulips.
