CLOSED: Chinese Bug Considered Dangerous

Sichuan, China

So I know this might be out of the ballpark of this forum considering this isn't really American and not necessarily a garden bug. But I thought I'd try. I'm attempting to get a picture of this bug but I haven't been able to catch it yet. I live in eastern Sichuan and a colleague of mine warned me greatly against a flying insect. It is about one a half inches in length with long black wings, a black head with yellow eyes and a very long red thorax. My colleague says that when the bug bites you (these are his translated words) it will 'corrupt your hand.' I'm just trying to figure out exactly what this bug is so I can learn some things about it. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. Hopefully I can get a picture soon. The guys are really jumpy though.

Is your bug like this?

I'm very curious of your insect, and I'd like to see an image of it. Maybe you can consult to professor Zhi-mo Zhao, zhaoxl@swau.edu.cn
If he can answer you, please make us to know
