Okay the question is....
Alot of my WSing jugs are sprouted now. We have been having some really beautiful weather (hope it continues) Any who, would it be okay to take the tops off these jugs that have sprouts and put them in the gh shown in the picture. It is not heated, and our last frost date isn't til May 15th (if then) I used this gh in winter of 06/07 on my front deck and ended up losing all of my babies :( It was my first experience with winter sowing, Wasn't sure I would do it again this year, but as you can see from the photo, I did...
I do have poppies that have sprouted and are growing good right now in some of the jugs. (Among a bunch of other things) Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...
zone 5-Sprouting WinterSown Plants & A Green House Question
As soon as I have good germination in a milk jug, I open it all the way at the hinge. I only flip it closed in case of overnight frost.
Why do you need the greenhouse for wintersowing? Be aware it can get very hot in a greenhouse very quickly, possibly too hot unless you have good venting in it.
Poppies do well if planted out asap, as soon as they have one or two sets of true leaves.
