This year (2007) after reading about scales and seeds, I tried some. Did not place in refrig. but left on window sill from 3-5 months and in January placed outside in the cold. They are a combination of all types.

Last group..I did get some from our co-op last year. I live in Humboldt County - next to Eureka, Calif. - gets cold here during the winter.
Did you mean 2007 or 2008 when you planted them? They look great.
all in the second half of 2007. Some of them I separated but most of them are still bunched together in their original container. Really don't have to much space, I have a lot of daylily seedlings, but I will find a spot later to separate.
Wow what a load of lilies. So do all these go in the ground somewhere?

Can you tell me how deep you planted the scales? I have a bunch I would like to try, fresh from 2008, but have no clue how to go about doing it. Thanks for any help.:)Anita
I would like to know how to divide and plant scales-I have a dizzy lily I plants last year and each of the 3 bulbs had scales galore!!

Thank you for the update, so did each scale form it's own bulb?
There were a few that did develop into a bulb, but several scale produced two-three bulbs. Most of them had one to two.
