Gourds xx's 2008

A.,

I didn't mean to pinch off the leaves. I meant to pinch the little worms to kill them where they are in the leaf. The leaves are probably still capable of photosynthesis and contribution to the well-being of the plant, despite the damage done by the leaf miners.

A, I think I used Garden Safe ready to spray.
I remember losing my Sunshine Mxd vine rather early in the season.
It had the most damage and perhaps I got too late a start with the spraying.
I saved some others because I caught the damage in time.

Thank you both, I've not seen anymore, but there were some whiteflies...around, what next?

Shirley, (Brugie) I hope all is well in your area in IA...let us know how you are doing.. and I hope that the storms stayed away from there and continue to stay away.

Believe it or not, it snowed yesterday in MT (on my BDay) and it snowed on my BD in 1990 when I was in Bolivia, SA.. first time ever that it snows in June .. snowflakes that were huge and we had to wear Jackets to fly to Miami that day, then it was hotter than the dickens in FL, so we mailed out coats and jackets back home from there.

Gourd, Don`t let the whiteflies get a hold. They can consume a entire morning glory plant in a day or two. Spray those evil little creatures and don`t let them have a chance.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

We are okay and only have minor flooding from the Chariton River at this time, unlike most of the state.....and we have been spared the winds and tornadoes also. Not much of Iowa has been spared.
