CLOSED: Is this a Wasp?

This is a rather large insect that looks like a wasp, but I can see no stinger. Any ideas?

About how long is it? Looks like the Jack Spaniels we have here, very gentle but do sting once provoked. They're about an inch long. Predators, eat bugs and caterpilars, I like them.

It's a little over an inch long. It seemed to be hunting through the leaves when I saw it.

I found out it is a paper wasp, Polistes exclamans).
