Planning Party at Outta's

Yeah, everyone knows that size doesn't count! (ROF!!)

Poulsbo, WA(Zone 8a)

I like small ones.

Poulsbo, WA

My DH was an inch shorter than me, but what a strong guy he was!
I think when they grow up a bit shorter than the other boys,
they learn how to deal with being smaller and figure out
creative ways to compensate. ;)

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

Neo - my DH is now an inch shorter (he slouches, I don't! hah, I refer to it as the lecturer's slouch, hips forward, hands in pockets - used to be chalky hands in pockets!) but we have always been the same height - but the level of intelligence this man has is just incomprehensible - its not just that he is numerate, but he has an ability to grasp the abstract in a way that makes it comprehensible without loosing the excitement of the thought - makes him pretty d#*ned tall in my eyes! Pretty exciting. Now, if he came with a six pack as well.................

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Well . . . he's an economist, isn't he (or is he)? Good economists have an uncanny ability to see patterns in behavior where most of us miss them. Brilliant people, I must say. [Ask me what my undergrad degree was in - hee hee]

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

Ummmm, Economics?

sorry, didn't mean to wax on about Dh, he had just impressed the socks off me yesterday morning and I was still thinking about it.

Port Angeles, WA(Zone 8b)

My DH doesn't grasp the abstract, he IS the abstract! He doesn't have a 6-pack, he's got a keg. He doesn't have much money, but is very, very rich. He has the biggest heart of any man I have ever met (well, my brother has a pretty danged big one, too!). He is kind and sensitive and doesn't (normally) fall into the trap of the "typical" male. He cooks, he cleans, he cries, he takes care of his mom, and he embraces all of my "new best hobbies" with gusto, often getting equally as exuberant about them as I do. I train for my summer sprint triathlons with a very large group of women, the Kitsap Tribabes (I think there's about 150-180 of us this year ~ and the number is growing). He volunteers at all the trainings and at the triathlons, doing whatever needs to be done to ensure that all the women complete safely. Last year at the Danskin (3500 women) he was a "bell ringer" at the run course turnaround, ringing a cowbell for every single woman who passed him, offering hugs to those who wanted them. It was pouring rain the entire time, and he and all the volunteers never left their posts, standing out in the rain getting soaked in their red volunteer t-shirts (his underwear has never "unpinked.") He walked the final 1-1/2 miles with the last Tribabe on the course, who was doing the tri with a stress fracture of her foot. He didn't want her to finish alone, but stood aside when she crossed the finish line so he wouldn't be in her finish line photo. Okay...so what more could I ask for? Am I lucky or what??

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

That just gave my chills - Tim, you are a one in a million million! I crown you Queen!

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Oh, that made me cry, Outta - what a precious man.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Wow. That is pretty darn special. Having met Tim, though, I can totally see that. You guys should have seen the concern and care he showed me when jumping my little truck and making sure that I knew how to clean the battery terminals. Good thing he doesn't live close or I'd start to rely on him too much, I can tell.

Laurie - I just assumed, with the energy analysis you referred to awhile back, that your DH was in the economics field. Sounds like the wrong assumption . . .^_^

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

No no, katie, you said guess what your Bach. was in, so I did.

You are right on DH - but he can be more generally interesting too.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Duhhhhhhhhhhh. I'm not so brilliant today.

See, I think economics IS generally interesting. I see it in every little thing. Actually think that psychiatry and economics are very interrelated - all about what motivates our behavior. Okay, I'm a little bit geeky . . .

Union, WA(Zone 8b)

Outta, having a man like yours is very special. You are blessed.

Whidbey Island, WA(Zone 7a)

Kathy, I love your geekiness.

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)

Thanks, Murmur. ^_^

Burwash Weald, United Kingdom(Zone 9b)

I second Murmur

Woodinville, WA(Zone 8b)
