I'm new to this forum, but I just had to share. I was at the Botanical Garden in Huntsville, AL last week. They have an approx. 110 year old dogwood tree that was moved there 9 years ago. It is 23 ft. tall and 44 ft. wide. It was in full bloom and gorgeous. I took a bunch of pictures that I thought I would share. Hope you all enjoy.
This first picture has people in it to give you an idea of how large the tree really is.

Massive Dogwood
Oh....Wow.........! So glad you shared this. And they moved this huge mature tree? Astonishing.
Tip of the hat to the Botanical Garden folks in Huntsville!
Stunning!
Does it flower this well every year, or only in good years?

melsalz - amazing pictures, story & tree. Would you mind adding your pictures to Plantfiles here:
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1045/ and a comment would be great too.
I found this reference to how they moved the tree: http://www.hsvgreen.info/UFDogwood/UFDogwood.htm
growin: I'd be honored to add pictures. Will do it shortly.
Thank You! A real nice addition to Plantfiles
Resin: Dogwoods flower every year. However I was told that this year was the best that the tree had flowered since it was moved.
