My kids found this inside my house, so I took it outside, and then grabbed a few shots of it.

Any Ideas?

Looks like a stonefly. There are some 200 species. The nymphs live in water for several years. They are reluctant fliers, and harmless. Probably got inside by mistake.

Thanks, that's a good start.
I'll check them out further.
I've never seen one before, so I didn't know where to start.
About the flying, it would not fly, in spite of my blowing and proding.
I felt like it had some real nice wings, but would not use them.
