Neoregelia "Picasso"

Winter Park, FL

I wintered this in full sun ............ hence the astounding color. At this point these guys only get two or three hours direct morning sun; next month they all go under 70% shadecloth for the rest of the summer.

John,
Definitely some beautiful Neos there. May I ask why you make a topic for each one instead of posting them all in the same thread?

Melanie

Sure Melanie ............. you can ask .....................

Does it matter? I never really gave it any thought.

John,
I know this isn't the most active forum, but when you create multiple threads you push down the other threads onto the next page where many people who are just browsing won't see them. It's just polite not to dominate one forum with multiple threads when you could easily make one instead.

Oops John you got in trouble, LOL, I do love all of your pictures! Clemen

Hey Clemen ............

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If this is the worst of my problems - I am very fortunate indeed.

Glad you like the broms ........... they certainly do give me great joy and satisfaction. I am hoping that our current "cold snap" is the last of it for the season; I am tired of moving things in and out!

John, hopefully you'll get better weather, here on Long Island we are still getting very chilly nights around 33 degrees. Tomorrow will be sunny and almost 75 WOW!
I have a few bromeliads, they are one of my favorite plants, I specially love putting them out in the summer and at the end of the season, I get to have new babies from the mother plant. I will keep an eye for more pictures from you! Clemen

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

These are the most gorgeous bromeliads I have ever seen!!! I need to write their names down for a want list although you live in warmer weather than I do.
Thanks so much for sharing and you can use a thread for every bromeliad you come across as pretty as these!

Hi John, when you return your broms to the shade, do they keep their winter colour, or does it begin to fade?
Very lovely collection, and Mel makes sense! I would love to look at a whole thread of your beautiful collection!

Greetings all ..........

Thank you Gessiegail; they would grow the same for you in Texas!

Sue ....... I never put them in the "shade"; they go under shadecloth (70%) which cuts the intensity of the sun to winter levels. I also move some of them to maintain specific sun exposure according to the time of year. They do not fade until they are ready to "croak"!

Here's a picture of a tiny favorite of mine. It is Neo. "Mosquito" and it came from Tropiflora 2 years ago. It hasn't reached anthesis yet - nor is it pupping. The color is just good enough to eat!

Here is Neo. "Peregrine". This is a very stubborn plant; he doesn't want to put on any color until 3 months before flowering. He stays ugly green for the majority of his life!
