Sue ....... I never put them in the "shade"; they go under shadecloth (70%) which cuts the intensity of the sun to winter levels. I also move some of them to maintain specific sun exposure according to the time of year.They do not fade until they are ready to "croak"!

Here's a picture of a tiny favorite of mine. It is Neo. "Mosquito" and it came from Tropiflora 2 years ago. It hasn't reached anthesis yet - nor is it pupping. The color is just good enough to eat!
